Section 30
Monitoring Committee
: (1) There will be a monitoring committee at the district level to monitor the business related to direct sale or distribution of goods.
(2) The monitoring committee as per sub-section (1) shall have the following members:-
(a) Chief District Officer or Assistant Chief District Officer – Chairman (b) Representative, District Coordination Committee – Member
(c) Representative, concerned district-based industry and commerce association – member
(d) Representative, one person nominated by the chairman on behalf of the representative organization related to consumer rights interests – member
(e) Head of Commercial Office (District Home and Small Industries Office or Home and Small Industries Development Committee in places where there is no commercial office) – Member Secretary
(3) According to clause (d) of sub-section (2), the term of office of the members nominated will be two years and they can be re-nominated.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (3), if the nominated member does not perform according to his position, the chairman may remove him at any time. But before removing him in that way, he should be given a reasonable opportunity to present his justification.
(5) If the position of a member of the monitoring committee becomes vacant for any reason, the vacant position shall be filled in the same manner as the nomination was made for such position.
